The Banners

These are the real files. Every time pixels are paid for, I re-run the exporter and upload the results to my profiles — so what you can download here is exactly what is sitting at the top of @kuberwastaken and /in/kubermehta right now. Nothing on this page is a mock-up.

One canvas, two uploads

There is only ever one piece of art: a master canvas 2000×500 — exactly 1,000,000 pixels. Both banners are the whole of it, scaled. No crops, no zones, no dead corners: every pixel anybody bought is in both files, and every pixel means the same thing as the one next to it.

One picture, two uploads. LinkedIn's shape is a perfect 4:1, so the canvas drops straight into it. X's is squarer, so the artwork sits in the middle at 1500×375 and I fill the strips above and below with my own branding — never with your pixels. The master canvas

X header — 1500×500

• x-banner-1500x500.png — the file I upload to X: the canvas at 1500×375, letterboxed between my two grey bands

LinkedIn banner — 1584×396

Why everything is a little smaller here

The canvas is 2000 pixels wide. LinkedIn's banner is 1584 and X's artwork strip is 1500, so the whole picture is scaled to about 79% and 75% respectively — roughly 21–25% smaller than it looks on the homepage. That is a plain, high-quality downscale applied to everybody identically; there is no pixel trickery that would let two fixed banner sizes both be 1:1 with one master image. It is why the FAQ nags you to send a bold, simple mark rather than fine detail or small text.

The @2x files exist because both platforms re-encode whatever you give them and a 1:1 upload can come out soft on a high-density screen. Same picture, twice the pixels, less mush.

Nothing on here is reserved

There is no roped-off area, no special rectangle in the middle, nothing being held back for a rich person. Every empty pixel in these files is buyable at the standard rate — the only exception is THE FINAL 10,000, and that is a threshold, not a place: standard checkout simply stops when the last 10,000 pixels are left, and whatever is still empty at that point goes to auction together. The FAQ explains it.

Nothing here is cropped or covered

These downloads are the complete artwork. X and LinkedIn each lay a round profile photo over one corner of the banner on the profile page itself, but that is an overlay on two web pages — it is not baked into the image. Every pixel anybody bought appears here in full.
